Exploration on efficacy and safety of benazepril combined with amlodipine in the treatment of elderly hypertensive patients

Objective To observe the efficacy of benazepril plus amlodipine in elderly hypertensive patients. Methods A total of 150 elderly hypertensive patients were randomly divided into treatment group(n=75)and control group(n=75). The blood pressure before and after treatment of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the 24-hour average blood pressure, lowest value of night sleep blood pressure and morning blood pressure in the treatment group were significantly lower when compared with the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Benazepril combined with amlodipine in elderly hypertensive patients can play a synergistic effect, maintain the stability of blood pressure, and reduce the damage to target organs.
