Abstract:
Objective To explore the influence of serum Cystatin C(CysC)level on short-term prognosis of patients with ischemic heart failure(IHF).Methods Serum level of CysC,BUN and Scr in the 76 patients with IHF and 46 normal people were detected. The clinical outcomes, major cardiac events, mortality during hospitalization,re-admission rate were compared. Results The level of serum CysC in heart function class I group was significantly better than that in the con-trol group (P <0.05).It increased with the higher class of NYHA heart functional classification (class Ⅳ cardiac function >class Ⅲ>class Ⅱ,respectively)(P <0.05).Compared with normal CysC group, the major cardiac events, mortality and re-admission rate were significantly higher in high CysC group(P <0.05).Conclusion Serum level of CysC is closely related with short-term prognosis of patients with IHF,and it is a predictor for major cardiac events and death in patients with IHF.
