Abstract:
Objective To explore the procedures and practice of endoscopic thyroidectomy (ET)for patients with benign thyroid nodules. Methods The clinical surgical data of 80 patients with benign thyroid nodules were retrospectively analyzed, primary outcome was visual analogue scale (VAS)scores evaluated at 3,8 and 24 h after surgery, secondary outcomes were incidence of neck discomfort and satisfaction rate to incision. Results 80 cases completed the surgery,VAS scores at 3,8 and 24 h after surgery were (2.3±0.6),(1.9±1.2)and (1.2±0.5)respectively, the score at 8 h and 24 h were significant lower than that at 8 h (P <0.05).Additionally,1 month after surgery, the incidence of neck discomforts was only 5.0% while the satisfaction rate to incision was 97.5%.Conclusion Endoscopic thyroidectomy has several advantages including safety, high efficiency, good appearance, small incision and slight pain during surgery, the successful rate of surgery through proficient could be increased by proficiently master of skills.
