Abstract:
Objective To explore the application of Wassel classification in the selection of surgical treatment for children with congenital polydactyly of thumb.
Methods Clinical materials of 36 children(39 fingers)with congenital polydactyly of thumb by surgical treatment were retrospectively analyzed. According to the classification of Wassel, specific surgical plans were adopted for treatment.
Results The follow-up time was 8 to 41 months. The modified Tada score was used to evaluate the efficacy, and there were 31 fingers with excellent result, 7 fingers with good result and 1 finger with poor result. Excellent and good rate was 97.44%.
Conclusion Wassel classification is effective in the treatment of children with congenital polydactyly of thumb, which can be carried out according to the conditions of children.
