Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical effect of non-convulsive electric shock combined with anti-psychotic drugs in treatment of hospitalized patients with schizophrenia.
Methods A total of 90 patients with schizophrenia were selected as research objects, and were divided into experimental group(
n=45)and control group(
n=45)according to random number table method. The control group was treated with routine antipsychotic drugs, and the experimental group was treated with routine antipsychotic drugs combined with non-convulsive electric shock, both groups were observed for 6 weeks. The clinical efficacy and changes of cognitive function of the two groups were compared.
Results The total clinical effective rate was 95.56%, which was significantly higher than 80.00%(
P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Negative and Positive Symptom Scale(PANSS)score between the two groups before treatment(
P>0.05); after 1 week 3 and 6 weeks of treatment, the PANSS scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(
P<0.05), and the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group(
P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale(WAIS-RC)score between the two groups before treatment(
P>0.05); after 6 weeks of treatment, the WAIS-RC scores of both groups were significantly higher than before treatment(
P<0.05), and the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(
P<0.05).
Conclusion Non-convulsive electric shock combined with anti-psychotic drugs has better efficacy, which can significantly reduce the degree of cognitive function - injury caused by drug, enhance safety and compliance.
