Abstract:
Objective To analyze the current situation of multiple induced abortion women with advanced maternal age(aged 35 years or older)from 2010 to 2019 in Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of Jiading District in Shanghai and selection of contraceptive methods.
Methods The related materials were collected, and the incidence of multiple induced abortion and the selection of contraceptive methods were analyzed.
Results From 2010 to 2019, the proportion of induced abortion cases with advanced maternal age in the total induced abortion cases was 14.56%, and year of 2014 was the cut-off point of induced abortion for cases with advanced maternal age, the lowest rate was 10.73% in 2013 and the highest was 21.73% in 2019. The ratio of multiple induced abortion cases with advanced maternal age decreased year by year, from the highest ratio of 25.99% in 2014 to 11.19% in 2019. There were significant differences in the average numbers of vaginal delivery and cesarean section in multiple induced abortion cases with advanced maternal age between different years(
P<0.01). Among the multiple induced abortion cases with advanced maternal age, there were significant differences in household register, education level, occupation, marital status, times of vaginal delivery and cesarean section(
P<0.01). Except for choice of subcutaneous implantation, there was a significant difference in the selection of contraceptive methods before and after education in multiple induced abortion cases with advanced maternal age(
P<0.01).
Conclusion The abortion rate of women with advanced maternal age in our hospital is increasing year by year, which is not - only related to their low educational level and lack of contraceptive knowledge, but also related to their special physiological stage and complicated diseases.
