Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of levetiracetam on the intelligence development of children with epilepsy and its influence.
Methods Eighty-five children with epilepsy were randomly divided into control group(
n=42)and study group(
n=43). The control group was treated with sodium valproate, and the study group was treated with levetiracetam, both groups were treated for 6 months. The changes of intelligence development levels, total effective rate of treatment, incidence of adverse reactions and inflammatory levels were compared between the two groups.
Results After treatment, the intelligence development level of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(
P< 0.01); the total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(
P< 0.05); there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the study group and the control group(
P>0.05); the inflammation level of the study with high safety group was significantly lower than that of the control group(
P< 0.01).
Conclusion Levetiracetam with nigh safety is more effective in the treatment of children with epilepsy, and can effectively improve the level of intellectual development and inflammation of children.
