Abstract:
Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease caused by a variety of factors, it mainly associated with high energy intake and accumulation of adipose tissue in the body. Obesity and its related diseases seriously harm the physical and mental health of patients, and greatly increase the medical burden. Diet, exercise and drugs play a limited role in the treatment of obesity. Although bariatric surgery has a significant effect, it has more complications and is poorly tolerated by most patients. With the development of digestive endoscopy, endoscopic bariatric therapy has attracted more and more attention due to its advantages such as minimally invasion, low cost and fewer complications, and has gradually developed and matured. In this paper, the existing methods of endoscopic bariatric therapies were systematically discussed in order to comprehensively introduce the efficacy of digestive endoscopic surgery in the treatment of obesity.
