Abstract:
We observed protective effects of hepatic growth factor (HGF) and salvia miltiorrhiza (SM) on acute liver injury induced by CCl4 in rats. Acute liver injury of rats was induced by CCl4 administered introperitoneally. Animals were divided into 5 groups: CCl4, HGF, SM, HGF+SM and normal groups. After given above drugs at different time, serum A and TNF-α were measured, the liver specimen was observed histological1y and the levels of MDA, SOD, Ca2+in liver tissue were compared among different groups. The results show that the levels of ALT, TNF-α, MDA, calcium, SOD and pathological changes of the liver were improved obviously in HGF or SM and HGF+SM groups. The protective effects in group HGF+SM were better than that in HGF or MS groups. HGF and SM have a good results in protectings hepatocyte degeneration and necrosis induced by CCl4 in rats,
