Abstract:
To evaluate the rapid prostatic specific antigen (PSA) in the diagnosis of piostate cancer. Methods: 33 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with bladder outflow obstruction (BOO) were assayed by Rapid PSA Test Kit and Enzyme Immunometric Assay Kit respectively. Combined with the pathologic diagnosis, the results were discussed. Results: The results revealed that there were 6 false positive cases and 1 false negative case in the diagnosis of prostate cancer with Rapid PSA Test Kit (According to PSA + ), and 4 false positive cases and 1 false negative case with Tandem - E method (According to PSA4ng/ml). The results were 94. 74 % coincidently with each other. Conclusion: The Rapid PSA Test Kit can be used as a screening method as the Enzyme Immunometic Assay Kit dose in patients who are suspected suffering from prostatic cancer. The rapid one can shorten the diagnostic period greatly.
