Effect of different root canal treatments for patients with pulp disease

    Abstract:
Objective  To explore the influence of different root canal therapies on prognosis of patients with dental pulp disease.
Methods  A total of 84 patients with pulp disease (124 teeth) were selected and divided into gradation group (n=42, 60 teeth) and single time group (n=42, 64 teeth) according to the envelope Method. Gradation group and single time group were treated with graded root canal therapy and disposable root canal therapy, respectively. Therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.
Results  The short-term total effective rate of single time group was 97.62%, which was significantly higher than 80.95% of the gradation group (P < 0.05), and the incidence rate of postoperative complications was 7.14%, which was significantly lower than 26.19% of the gradation group (P < 0.05). The average treatment time of the single time group was significantly shorter than that of the gradation group (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in long-term success rate and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score between the two groups (P>0.05).
Conclusion  Both graded root canal therapy and disposable root canal therapy have significant long-term effect on pulp disease, but the short-term effect of disposable root canal therapy is better than graded root canal therapy, and the incidence rate of complications is lower.
