Efficacy of Xiangsha Liujunzi decoction in treatment of elderly patients with chronic gastritis and its influence on syndrome and physical sign

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Xiangsha Liujunzi decoction in treatment of elderly patients with chronic gastritis and its influence on syndrome and physical sign. Methods 117 elderly patients with chronic gastritis were randomly divided into control group (n=57)and observation group (n =60).The control group was treated with clarithromycin tablets, amoxicillin capsules and colloidal bismuth pectin capsules,while the observation group was treated with Xiangsha Liujunzi decoction on the basis of the control group,1 agent per day,and 15 days were counted as a course of treatment.Clinical symptoms and physical sign were compared between two groups after 6 courses of treatment.Results Clinical symptoms such as epigastric pain,ab-dominal fullness and distention,belching,dyspepsia,poor appetite,asthenia,nausea and vomiting were improved significantly in both groups.Effective rate in the control group was 77.1%,which was significantly lower than 90.0% in the observation group (P <0.05).Conclusion Xiangsha Liujunzi decoction shows a significant efficacy in treating chronic gastritis,and it is worthy of ap-plication and popularization.
