Journal of Clinical Medicine in Practice (Innovative Research in Medice Combined with Engineering), founded in 1997 and originally named as Jiangsu Journal of Clinical Medicine, is supervised by the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province, and co-sponsored by Society of China University Journals and Yangzhou University. It is published openly and has been included in a series of domestic and international databases including Wanfang, CNKI, VIP, Superstar Journals, CA Chemical Abstracts(America), JST Japan Science and Technology Agency Database (Japan)(2018), ect.

As the first sponsor of this journal, Yangzhou University, a comprehensive university with a complete range of disciplines in China, provides the foundation to build interdisciplinary research and integration, and has in-depth cooperation with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Suzhou Institute of Medical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other top domestic research institutions, which can provide expert resources and financial support for the publication. Society of China University Journals, the second sponsor, has provided a high platform for development of the journal. At the same time, Qian Feng, the director of Editorial Office of the journal, chairman of Medical Journals Professional Committee of Society of China University Journals, vice-chairman of Medicine and Healthcare Branch of China Periodicals Association, and secretary-general of Scientific Research and Publication Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, is devoting his efforts to jointly creating a brand of "Medical Series Journals of Chinese University" with other medical journals of universities.

The close combination of medicine and engineering promotes each other and produces their binding points, that is, medicine combined with engineering researches. The cross integration of medicine and engineering is an important part of the construction of "Healthy China" and "New Medicine", which is directly related to the promotion of national major strategies such as "Healthy China 2030" and "Made in China 2025". Based on the innovation, this journal builds a platform for interdisciplinary academic exchanges, and promotes the integration of medical science, engineering science and other disciplines. The publication reflects the latest achievements of technical and social development in the field of medical engineering, which is the base for clinical medical staff and researchers of medicine as well as engineering to exchange professional information and release research findings. Aiming at seeking practical solutions to various clinical problems encountered in diagnosis and treatment in the field of engineering technology, the journal provides a platform for cooperation and transformation of scientific research achievements for medical engineering researchers, and promotes the advances and transformation of medicine and engineering researches in both directions. Proceeding from the needs of the country and society development, the journal has made positive transformation and upgrading, and its positioning has changed from original "comprehensive field of clinical medicine" to "innovative research of medicine combined with engineering in the field of clinical medicine".
