Effect comparison of three different disinfection methods in treatment of elderly patients with helicobacter pylori infection

Objective To compare the efficacy of three different disinfection methods in the treatment of elderly patients with helicobacter pylori infection (Hp).Methods Elderly pa-tients were randomly divided into group A (n =68),group B(n =70)and group C (n =70),and three groups were treated with sequential therapy,the new triple therapy and standard triple thera-py respectively.A course of treatment was 10 days in all the groups,and 4 weeks after drug with-drawal,13C urea breath test was used to assess the eradication rate of Hp.Results The eradica-tion rates in the group A,group B and group C were 85.29%,80.00%and 61.43% respectively. The eradication rates in group A and group B were significantly higher than that in the group C (P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between group A and group B.There were no sig-nificant differences of incidence rates of adverse reactions among three groups (P >0.05).Conclu-sion 10 days sequential therapy,the new triple therapy and standard triple therapy are proved to be effective in treating and eradicating Hp and there is no obvious adverse reactions.Among three methods,efficacy of 10 days sequential therapy is more significant.
