Influence of compound glutamine combined with probiotics on intestinal barrier function and cytokine in patients with ulcerative colitis

  • Objective To explore the influence of compound glutamine combined with pro-biotics on intestinal barrier function and cytokine in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC).Methods 66 patients with UC were randomly divided into the control group (n =33)and the observation group (n =33).The control group was treated with mesalazine, while the observation group was treated with compound and probiotics on the basis of control group.Clinical efficacy, intestinal bar-rier function and cytokine were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate and colonoscopy remission rate of the observation group were 100.0%,which were significantly higher than 81.8% and 84.8% of the control group (P <0.05).After the treatment,IL-8 and TNF-αwere significantly lower than those before treatment (P <0.01),and the indexes of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (P <0.01).L /M in the observa-tion group was significantly lower than that before treatment and the control group (P <0.01),but there was no significant difference in the control group (P >0.05).Conclusion Compound glu-tamine combined with probiotics based on the traditional treatment shows significant effects in treat-ment of patients with UC,and it also has an important significance in the recovery of intestinal bar-rier function and reduction of cytokine.
