Abstract
Objective To explore the expressions Bmi-1 and P16 and their significances of in patients with breast cancer and to analyze their relationships with biomarkers, such as ER,PR and HER-2.Methods The expressions of Bmi-1 and P16 were detected by immunohistochemical SP method in 80 patients with breast cancer and their relationships were evaluated. Results The expres-sion of Bmi-1 was positively related with the TNMstaging, histological degrees and lymph node metas-tasis (P <0.05),but had no association with age, tumor volume as well as the expressions of ER,PR and HER-2 (P >0.05).Compared with normal tissues, the low expression of P16 was in reverse rela-tionship with the TNMstaging, histological degrees and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05),related with HER-2 expression (P <0.05),but had no association with age, tumor volume as well as the ex-pressions of ER and PR (P >0.05).Conclusion The expressions of Bmi-1 and P16 proteins play an important role in the recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer, and their combined detection can be used as an important indicator for the prognosis of breast cancer.
