Abstract
Objective To explore clinical efficacy of valsartan combined with amlodipine on the level of blood sugar, serum lipid and blood uric acid of elderly patients with hypertension compli-cated with diabetics. Methods A total of 120 cases with hypertension complicated with diabetics were selected and divided into 2 groups.Combined-used group was given oral valsartan combined with amlodipine and single-amlodipine group was given amlodipine.Clinical efficacy and indexes of serum lipid, fasting blood-glucose (FBG),fasting insulin (FINS),insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and blood uric acid (UA)were observed. Results Total effective rate of combined-used group was 93.33% and single-amlodipine group was 80.00%,there was significant difference between 2 groups (P >0.05).there were no differences in the levels of serum lipid,FBG,FINS and ISI be-fore treatment (P >0.05).And the above mentioned indexes were significantly changed after treatment (P < 0 .0 1 ).there were no differences in single-amlodipine group before treatment (P >0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of valsartan combined with amlodipine for treating el-derly patients with hypertension complicated with diabetics be superior to single-amlodipine group and can obviously improve fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity.
