Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on decreasing hypoglycemia rate in the elderly patients with diabetes. Methods One hundred and sixty patients with diabetes were randomly divided into two groups. The patients in the control group were given routine nursing. The patients in the experimental group were given continual nursing. The clinical indexes of the two groups were compared before and after intervention.Quality of life, health behavior adoption rate and the incidence of related clinical events were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the levels of glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, postprandial 2 h blood glucose and BMI index in the experimental group were significantly lower. The scores of the treatment dimension and the overall quality of life scores were significantly lower than that of the control group;Blood sugar monitoring, hypoglycemia prevention measures and foot care adoption rate were significantly higher than the control group; The incidence of hypoglycemia and medication non-compliance were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.01).Conclusion Nursing intervention can significantly reduce the incidence of hypoglycemia during intensive treatment in elderly patients with diabetes and can reduce the incidence of hypoglycemia.
