Objective To compare the efficiency of chest computed tomography (CT) and X-ray in screening of chest diseases in people with physical examination in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Methods The examination results of 833 people with physical examination by chest CT and X-ray in Cadre Health Care Center stored in database of the Health Management Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University in 2016 were analyzed.
Results Chest CT was better than X-ray in detections of chest space-occupying lesions, chest inflammatory diseases, the distribution of thoracic nodules and size of nodules within 5 mm and 6 to 10 mm (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Chest CT has a high application value in the screening of chest space-occupying lesions and inflammatory diseases, especially in the detection of nodule distribution and diameter.
