Objective To observe the effect of directed penetration therapy of traditional Chinese medicine combined with demonstration of limb function exercise by video player on the recovery of nervous system function in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Methods A total of 46 stroke patients with limb dysfunction admitted from June to December 2018 in our department were taken as control group. Another 46 stroke patients with limb dysfunction admitted from January to May 2019 in our department were taken as observation group. Routine nursing and rehabilitation exercise were given to the control group, and directed penetration therapy of traditional Chinese medicine combined with demonstration of limb function exercise by video player were given to the observation group. The course of treatment in both groups lasted for 3 weeks. The simplified Fugl-Meyer Scale (FMA) scores, the Modified Barthel Index (MBI) scores, and the TCM syndrome of patients were observed.
Results After treatment, FMA scores, MBI scores of the observation group were significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05), and the TCM symptom score of two group decreased after treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05). The clinical efficacy of two groups showed significant difference (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Directed penetration therapy of Chinese herbal medicine combined with demonstration of limb function exercise by video player can significantly improve the compliance and mastery of limb function exercise of patients and their family members with ischemic stroke, improve the limb movement function and their self-care ability.
