Objective To analyze the clinical effect of hot gutta-percha filling in treatment of root canal of pulposis and periapical diseases.
Methods Ninety patients with pulposis and periapical disease in our hospital were divided into reference group and research group, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with lateral pressure filling and the study group was treated with hot gutta-percha filling. The therapeutic effect and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.
Results The incidence of complications in the reference group was significantly higher than that in the study group (P < 0.05), the filling time was significantly longer, and scores of postoperative pain degree was significantly higher than that in the study group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Hot gutta-percha filling is effective in treatment of root canal of pulposis and periapical diseases and can effectively reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
