Effect of clarithromycin combined with Weiyanning Granule on Hp eradication rate and efficiency in children with gastritis

  Objective  To investigate the clinical effect of clarithromycin combined with Weiyanning Granule in the treatment of children with gastritis.

  Methods  Totally 102 children with gastritis were randomly divided into two groups, with 51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with amoxicillin and Weiyanning Granule, while the observation group was treated with clarithromycin and Weiyanning Granule. The eradication rate of Hp, the concentration of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6), transforming growth factor-β₁ (TGF-β₁), interleukin-17 (IL-17) and the total effective rate were compared between the two groups.

  Results  After treatment, the eradication rate of Hp in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of IL-6, TGF-β₁ and IL-17 in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05), and the serum levels of IL-6, TGF-β₁ and IL-17 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05).

  Conclusion  Clarithromycin combined with Weiyanning Granule is effective in the treatment of children with gastritis.
