Effect of intra aortic balloon counterpulsation combined with floating catheter on cardiac function and prognosis of patients with heart pump failure

  •   Objective  To investigate the effect of intra aortic balloon counterpulsation (IABP) combined with floating catheter on cardiac function and prognosis of patients with heart pump failure.
Methods  Totally 80 patients with heart pump failure from July 2018 to July 2019 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with IABP, and the observation group was treated with IABP and floating catheter. Heart function, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and adverse events were compared between the two groups.
Results  The indexes of blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation after treatment in both groups were significantly better than those before operation, and the blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence and mortality of adverse events in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion  IABP combined with floating catheter can effectively improve the cardiac function and reduce the incidence rate of adverse events.
