Objective To investigate the correlation between levels of humoral immune indexes and levels of blood glucose and insulin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods A total of 41 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected as study group and 41 healthy people were selected as the control group. The levels of humoral immune indexes were detected in both groups, and their correlations with blood glucose and insulin levels were analyzed.
Results The levels of IgA, complement C3 and complement C4 in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and the levels of IgG and IgM were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The levels of IgA, complement C3 and complement C4 were positively correlated with levels of blood glucose and insulin (P < 0.05), while the levels of IgG and IgM were negatively correlated with levels of blood glucose and insulin (P < 0.05).
Conclusion The abnormal levels of humoral immune indexes is closely related to the increase of blood glucose and insulin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
