Abstract
Objective To investigate the role of titanium alloy pile and resin core in the restoration of residual crown of posterior teeth in elderly patients. Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with residual crown of posterior teeth from May 2013 to May 2017 were as research objects, and were divided into control group and observation group according to the order of hospital admission. The control group accepted routine repair, while the observation group was given titanium alloy pile and resin nuclear joint repair. Repair success rate, satisfaction, gum conditions, chewing function and quality of life in two groups were compared. Results The success rate, satisfaction and quality of life in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). There were significant differences in gum condition and chewing function between the two groups before repair(P>0.05), and the gingival index, bite force and chewing efficiency of the observation group were significantly higher than that of the control group after repair(P< 0.05). Conclusion Titanium alloy finished pile and resin core can improve the success rate of repair, improve the gingival state and chewing function, and promote the satisfaction and quality of life of elderly patients with residual crown of posterior teeth.
