Perioperative predictive nursing for liver cancer patients with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization

Objective To explore the effect of perioperative predictive nursing intervention for liver cancer patients with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE). Methods Totally 75 patients with primary liver cancer by TACE treatment were randomly divided into observation group(n=35)and control group(n=40). The control group was received routine nursing, while the observation group was given predictive nursing on the basis of the control group. The postoperative complications and satisfaction degree at discharge were compared between two groups. Results The incidence rates of nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, fever, local hemorrhage, urinary retention, pressure ulcer, bone marrow suppression and liver dysfunction in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05), and the satisfaction degree of the patients was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Predictive nursing can reduce the incidence of complications in patients with liver cancer after TACE and improve patients' satisfaction degree.
