Abstract
Objective To analyze the characteristics of glycemic characteristics of inpatients in non-endocrine departments and to evaluate their blood glucose management according to informationized blood glucose monitoring data. Methods A total of 124 770 real-time bedside glucose data from 3 313 non-endocrinology inpatients was collected by information-based glucose collection system, and the blood glucose values was analyzed by Glucometrics models including Population, Patient, Patient-day model and Quality Hyperglycemia Score(QHS). Results In the Population model, the frequency of blood glucose monitoring was low from 21: 00 to 5: 00 the following day, but the incidence of hypoglycemia was also significantly increased. In the Patient model, there were 5.34%of inpatients with more than 3 days of hypoglycemia and 10.53% experiencing both hyperoglycemia and hypoglycemia during hospitalization. In the Patient-day model, the rates of hypoglycemia and severe hypoglycemia were 3.99% and 0.48%, respectively. Conclusion Three Glucometrics models can provide different blood glucose information, but cannot be replaced each other. Therefore, comprehensive analysis and evaluation are needed in clinic.
