Study on efficacy of simulating biological electrical stimulation therapy in treating postpartum diastasis recti abdominis

  • Objective To investigate the efficacy of simulating biological electrical stimulation therapy in treating postpartum diastasis recti abdominis. Methods A total of 231 postpartum diastasis recti abdominis women with a distance of over 2~5 cm rechecked on the 42nd postpartum day in outpatient department were enrolled in the study, and were divided into three groups based on their willingness. The intervention group 1(n=76)implemented core training, the intervention group 2(n=85)received simulating biological electrical stimulation therapy, while the control group(n=70)received no intervention. The curative efficacy and separation distance of diastasis recti abdominis were evaluated after 10 d treatment. Results After 10 days of intervention, the separation distance of rectus abdominis in intervention group 2 was less than that in the routine control group and the intervention group 1, and its effective rate(68.24%)was significantly higher than that of routine control group(8.57%)and the intervention group 1(22.67%)(P<0.05). After 10 days of intervention, intervention group 1 had significantly shorter separation distance of rectus abdominis and higher efficacy than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Simulating biological electrical stimulation therapy and core training can promote the curative efficacy in postpartum diastasis recti abdominis, and the postpartum recovery. It is necessary to accept clinical intervention for women with postpartum diastasis recti abdominis, and efficacy of simulating biological electrical stimulation therapy alone is better than core training alone.
