Clinical analysis of sacrospinous ligament fixation with conventional surgical instrument under direct vision in treatment of pelvic organ prolapse

  • Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of sacrospinous ligament fixation with conventional surgical instrument under direct vision in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse. Methods Clinical data of 14 patients who had pelvic organ prolapse undergoing sacrospinous ligament fixation with conventional surgical instrument under direct vision was retrospectively analyzed, and the clinical efficacy and incidence of complications were analyzed. Results All patients successfully completed the operation, no intraoperative and postoperative hemorrhage or severe organ damage occurred, and no other postoperative complications were observed. The follow-up was 3 to 24 months after surgery, with an average of 11 months. All the patients, with higher clinical satisfaction, recovered well after surgery, re-occurrence was not found in these patients. No relapse and subjective symptoms were found. The Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantitation(POP-Q)results at 3 months after surgery showed a 100% success rate. Conclusions Sacrospinous ligament fixation with conventional surgical instrument under direct vision in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse is a safe and an effective method.
