  • Objective To explore the effect of timing of postpartum nursing intervention in the improvement of lactation and postpartum depression of puerperas with cesarean section. Methods A total of 100 puerperas with cesarean section were selected and randomly divided into study group(n=50)and control group(n=50). The control group was given routine nursing, while the observation group was given early massage nursing intervention. The time to lactation, the pain condition, the success rate of lactation within 48 hours, the rate of artificial feeding as well as the scores of Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale(EPDS), Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and nursing satisfaction degree were compared between the two groups. Results In the study group, the first time to lactation was significantly shorter than control group(P<0.05), the success rate of lactation within 48 hours was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05), the rate of artificial feeding was significantly lower than control group(P<0.05), and the score of pain was significantly lower than control group(P<0.05). The incidence of depression and the scores of SDS and SAS in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction degree of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Implementation of nursing intervention of breast massage and abdominal massage for puerperas with cesarean section in the early postpartum period can effectively promote the lactation, reduce the pain and improve the nursing satisfaction degree.
