Analysis on correlations between blood lipid, blood glucose metabolic levels as well as blood pressure and diabetic retinopathy

Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlations between blood lipid, blood glucose metabolic levels as well as blood pressure and diabetic retinopathy(DR). Methods A total of 160 DR patients were divided into blind group(n=30), low vision group(n=50)and low vision above group(n=80)according to bilindness and low vision criteria. The levels of blood lipid, glucose metabolism and blood pressure were compared among the three groups, and their correlations with DR were analyzed. Results Systolic blood pressure(SBP), fasting plasma glucose(FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin( HbAlc), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), and ratio of LDL-C to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)in the blind group were higher than those in the low vision group(P< 0.05), and the level of HDL-C was lower than that in the low vision group(P< 0.05). SBP, FPG, HbAlc, LDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C in the blind group and the low vision group were higher than those in the low vision above group(P<0.05), and the HDL-C levels were lower than that in the low vision above group(P<0.05). The correlation analysis results showed that SBP, FPG, HbAlc, LDL-C/HDL-C were positively correlated with the visual impairment of DR, which were all independent influencing factors. Conclusion Monitoring SBP, FPG, HbAlc, LDL-C/HDL-C is helpful to predict the occurrence of DR and provide reliable reference for its timely treatment.
