  • Objective To observe the effect of modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxbustion in treatment of lumbar disc herniation, and its influence on lumbar function and pain. Methods A total of 184 patients with lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into two groups, with 92 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, and the observation group was treated with modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with acupuncture. The lumbar function, changes of pain and curative efficacy of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results After treatment, the pain score and Oswestry disability Index(ODI)score of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxbustion can effectively relieve pain of patients, improve the lumbar function and curative effect.
