Effects of Bushen Huoxue Decoction for patients with non-obese polycystic ovary syndrome and its effects on score of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and ovarian function

Objective To explore the therapeutic effects of Bushen Huoxue Decoction in patients with non-obese polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS), and its effects on score of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and ovarian function. Methods A total of 92 non-obese PCOS patients were selected as research subjects, and were divided into two groups according to random number table method. The control group(n=46)was treated with clomiphene, while the observation group(n=46)additionally received Bushen Huoxue Decoction based on the control group. The curative effect after treatment was compared, and the scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome, fdlicle stimulatine hormone(FSH)levels and recovery condition of ovarian function before and after treatment were recorded. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(95.65% versus 80.43%, P<0.05); after treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups decreased, and FSH levels increased. The observation group had significantly lower traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score and higher level of FSH than those of the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the number of follicles and ovarian volume of both groups were decreased, and the observation group had significantly better results than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Bushen Huoxue Decoction has better efficacy in treating non-obese PCOS patients, which can effectively improve the traditional Chinese medicine syndromes as well as ovarian function, and increase the level of ovarian stimulating hormone.
