Research progress in measurement of biological parameters of anterior segment

Accurate measurement of biological parameters of anterior segment has an important reference value for accurate refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. In recent years, the instruments for measurement of biological parameters of anterior segment have developed rapidly from slit lamp examination to ultrasonic biomicroscope(UBM), anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT), optical biometry measurement device(Lenstar LS900)and equipment of Pentacam. With the development of instruments, the measurement data is more and more abundant, and the accuracy is also improved. In this study, the principles, characteristics and clinical applications of several commonly used instruments for measurement of biological parameters of anterior segment are reviewed.
