Objective To analyze the value of forkhead box protein 3 (Foxp3), interleukin-10 (IL-10) combined with clinical features in predicting the recurrence of male patients with intra-anal condyloma acuminatum.
Methods The clinical materials of 160 male patients with intra-anal condyloma acuminatum were retrospectively analyzed. According to the recurrence conditions, they were divided into recurrence group (n=98) and non-recurrence group (n=62), and the clinical features as well as Foxp3 and IL-10 levels were compared between the two groups. The best cut-off values of Foxp3 and IL-10 were analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and the risk factors of recurrence of condyloma acuminatum were analyzed by Logistic regression model.
Results In the recurrence group, the proportions of patients with simple surgical resection, staying up late, drinking, high and mixed types of human papillomavirus and deoxyribonucleic acid (HPV-DNA), other sexually transmitted diseases, wart diameter≥0.5 cm, drug interruption and the levels of Foxp3 and IL-10 were significantly higher than those in the non-recurrence group (P < 0.05). ROC curve analysis showed that the areas under the curve of Foxp3 and IL-10 were 0.881 and 0.910, respectively. Logistic regression analysis showed that Foxp3≥0.195%, IL-10≥394.210 ng/L, simple surgical resection, staying up late, drinking, high and mixed types of HPV-DNA, complicated with other sexually transmitted diseases, wart diameter ≥0.5 cm, drug interruption were risk factors for recurrence of condyloma acuminatum.
Conclusion Foxp3≥0.195%, IL-10≥394.210 ng/L, simple surgical resection, staying up late, drinking, high and mixed types of HPV-DNA, complicated with other sexually transmitted diseases, wart diameter ≥0.5 cm, drug interruption are risk factors for recurrence of patients with condyloma acuminatum.
