Effects of Puhuang Charcoal combined with Shoutai Pills for subchorionic hematoma patients with threatened abortion due to deficiency of kidney

  •   Objective  To investigate effect of Puhuang Charcoal combined with Shoutai Pills on the clinical efficacy, syndrome score and pregnancy outcomes of subchorionic hematoma patients with threatened abortion due to deficiency of kidney.
Methods  The clinical data of 86 subchorionic hematoma patients with threatened abortion due to deficiency of kidney was retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods. The control group(46 cases) was treated with progesterone capsules, and the observation group (40 cases) were treated with Puhuang Charcoal combined with Shoutai Pills on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome score, B-ultrasonic hematoma disappearance time, vaginal bleeding time, pregnancy outcomes, sex hormone levels and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
Results  The total effective rate of the observation group was 90.00%, which was higher than 71.74% of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of the main syndromes and secondary syndromes of the two groups decreased significantly, but were lower in the observation group than those in the control group(P < 0.05). The disappearance time of B-ultrasound hematoma andvaginal bleeding in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the inevitable abortion rate between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), progesterone (P) and estradiol (E2) in the two groups were increased, and the levels of above indexes in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). There were 3 cases (6.52%) of adverse reactions in the control group and 4 cases (10.00%) in the observation group during the treatment, but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).
Conclusion  The combined treatment of Puhuang Charcoal and Shoutai Pills can effectively improve curative effect of threatened abortion patients with kidney-deficiency, reduce the syndrome score of TCM, and increase the level of progesterone.
