Effect of full-time follow-up on quality of life in recipients with transplantation of donated kidney

  • Objective To explore the effect of full-time follow-up on the quality of life in recipients with transplantation of donated kidney.
Methods A total of 192 recipients with transplantation of donated kidney from the dead adult citizens were randomly divided into control group (n=97) and experimental group (n=95). The control group received routine follow-up, while the experimental group received full-time follow-up (closed follow-up management of patient-outpatient-internet cycle). Unplanned readmission rate, score of self-care ability, score of quality of life and satisfaction degree of follow-up were compared between two groups.
Results At 6 months after discharge, the unplanned readmission rate in the experimental group was 18.95%, which was significantly lower than 29.90% in the control group (P < 0.05); at 1 month and 6 months after discharge, the scores of self-care ability, quality of life and satisfaction degree of follow-up in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Full-time follow-up can effectively reduce the unplanned readmission rate of recipients with renal transplantation, enhance self-care ability, improve quality of life, and increase patients'satisfaction degrees.
