Abstract
Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is a sleep disorder caused by collapse of upper airways, which causes repeated apnea and hypopnea during sleep. Increased arterial stiffness is a high risk factor for atherosclerosis in patients with OSAHS. Pulse wave velocity (PWV) is the reliable method to detect arterial stiffness, which can provide a scientific basis for early screening of atherosclerotic diseases. In this review, the relationship between OSAHS and arterial stiffness, the detection methods of PWV and the application progress of PWV in the detection of arterial stiffness in patients with OSAHS were reviewed.
