  • Objective

To investigate the current situation of exercise fear in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) during "blank period" after radiofrequency ablation (RFCA) and its influencing factors.

    Methods

A total of 310 AF patients were selected as the study objects. The general information questionnaire, Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia Heart (TSK-SV Heart), Self-efficacy for Exercise (SEE) and University of Toronto Atrial Fibrillation Severity Scale (AFSS) were used to investigate 310 AF patients in the "blank period" after RFCA.

    Results

The total score of TSK-SV Heart in the "blank period" after RFCA in AF patients was (44.83±9.65), the total score of SEE was (38.59±16.28), and the total score of AFSS was (25.77±5.95). The results of multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that gender, education level, occupation type, residence situation, heart function, self-motor efficacy and the severity of AF symptoms were the influencing factors of exercise fear in the postoperative "blank period" (P < 0.05).

    Conclusion

The level of exercise fear in the "blank period" after RFCA is high in AF patients. Medical staff can intervene in the daily nursing management according to the above factors to reduce the exercise fear of patients and improve the postoperative rehabilitation effect.
