INTRACTABLE PSYCHOSES TREATED WITH STEREOTACTIC OPERATIONS (A Report of 12 Cases)

Since April 1990 the authors have followed up 12 patients with intractable psychosesoperated stereotactically. The rate of recent curative eeffect is 75 per cent, which decreases by 66. 7 percent after 3 years, and by 50 per cent after 5 years. The effect of operation for illusion, impulse and attackaction is good and affirmatvie. The selection of target sites of lesion for different symptoms was also dis-cussed.
