Multi planar reconstruction technique of multi-slice spiral CT in the preoperative assessment of TN staging of gastric cancer

Objective To analyze the value of multi planar reconstruction technique of multi-slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of TN staging of gastric cancer.Methods 45 gastric cancer pa-tients were conducted with preoperative abdominal multi-slice spiral CT scan,and multi planar re-construction (MPR)was used to analyze the CT data.The processed results were analyzed by 3 ra-diologists.Results Consistency of spiral CT and pathologic findings for T staging diagnosis of gas-tric cancer was 88.4%,while that was 70.1% for N staging diagnosis.MPR was better than the transverse image examination,and there were significant differences of accuracy for the T staging and N staging detection,sensitivity and specificity between two methods (P <0.05).Conclusion Multi-slice spiral CT examination is one of the best methods for preoperative TN staging of gastric cancer,and it is worthy of clinical application.
