  • Anal fistula, a common and frequently-occurring disease in the anorectal department, has numerous clinical diagnosis and treatment schemes and inconsistent modes of cognition. Most of the studies are limited to theoretical discussion, which leads to a high recurrence rate of anal fistula due to the poor instruction significance. Therefore, Beijing Anorectal Society has consulted more than 30 domestic experts in the anorectal field through questionnaire survey. Through repeated discussions on the basis of evidence-based medicine, the Consensus of Experts on Diagnosis and Treatment of Anal Fistula(2020 Edition) was formed. The consensus puts forward the principle of anal fistula treatment, and points out advantages and disadvantages of various surgical procedures such as traditional thread-ligating therapy, anal fistula incision operation, Lift operation, fistula filling surgery, and video-assisted anal fistula resection(VAAFT)emerging in recent years so as to provide guidance for the clinical practice of professional anorectal doctors, standardize the diagnosis and treatment, improve the cure rate of anal fistula and reduce the recurrence rate.
