Abstract
Tranexamic acid (TXA) is commonly used in trauma, orthopedic surgery, and heart disease patients to prevent intraoperative bleeding and reduce patient mortality. TXA has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a routine treatment for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) which is an important cause of maternal death, but its ability to prevent PPH is controversial. In this paper, the use of TXA to prevent and treat PPH related studies were reviewed, in order to provide theoretical basis and ensure the safety of mothers and babies.
