  •   Objective  To explore the perioperative nursing experience of 28 congenital cleft lip and palate patients.
      Methods  A total of 28 patients with congenital cleft lip and palate surgery were given perioperative nursing. Postoperative pain, intraoperative blood loss, operating time, hospital stay, complications and prognosis were observed.
      Results  With the extension of time after surgery, the degree of pain that was from severe pain at beginning to the mild pain afterwards was significantly relieved. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and duration of hospital stays were 50~120 min, 45~110 mL, and 7~16 d, respectively, with an average of 60 min, 55 mL, and (9.4±2.6) d, respectively. The wound achieved primary healing, and appearance of these patients improved obviously, and language articulation was obviously improved when compared to preoperation. At last, all patients successfully discharged. All the children recovered well, with great improvement of language function, and satisfactory appearance. The postoperative complications occurred in 2 cases(7.1%).
      Conclusion  Professional quality of nursing for children before and after surgery has significant impact on recovery and prognosis of children.
