Objective To investigate the value of laser ablation in treatment of patients with fibroadenoma of breast.
Methods Fifteen patients with fibroadenoma of breast confirmed by pathological examination results were selected, and the max diameter of the tumor was less than 2 cm. Results of contrast-enhanced ultrasound before and 1 week after laser ablation were compared, and the curative effect of laser ablation was analyzed.
Results Of 15 patients, contrast-enhanced ultrasound showed homogeneous high enhancement before laser ablation but no enhancement after one week of laser ablation. After laser ablation, there were 9 cases with grade 0 of Alder blood flow classification, 3 cases with grade Ⅰ and 3 cases with grade Ⅱ. The volume of enhanced image of the focus before laser ablation was (1 258.4±755.0) mm3, which was significantly lower than (4 157.6±682.0) mm3 after laser ablation (P< 0.05).
Conclusion Laser ablation is effective in the treatment of patients with fibroadenoma of breast, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound can be used for evaluation of curative effect.
