To analyze the application value of refined dietary intervention based on Omaha system in postoperative patients with esophageal cancer.
A total of 86 patients with esophageal cancer undergoing surgery from February to December 2021 were selected as research objects, and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 43 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given routine nursing after operation, while patients in the observation group were given refined dietary intervention based on Omaha system after surgery. The subjective global nutritional score, nutritional cognition, nutrient intake and nutritional status were compared.
After nursing, the scores of Patient Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in the two groups were significantly lower, and the scores of nutrition knowledge-attitude-practice (KAP) questionnaire in the two groups were significantly higher than those before nursing (P < 0.05); the PG-SGA score of the observation group was significantly lower, and the KAP score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The intake of carbohydrate, protein, fat and total energy in the two groups were significantly higher, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05). The levels of albumin, transferrin and prealbumin in the two groups were significantly higher, and were significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
The refined dietary intervention based on Omaha system has a better application effect in postoperative patients with esophageal cancer, which can change patients′ cognition of dietary intervention, increase their nutrient intake and improve their nutritional status.
