Abstract

Objective
To construct a dyadic coping intervention based on stress coping theory, and explore the effect of this scheme on the body image level of breast cancer patients.
Methods
A total of 103 breast cancer patients who underwent surgery and chemotherapy from December 2020 to September 2022 were selected as the study objects, and the subjects were randomly divided into control group (51 cases) and intervention group (52 cases). Finally, 49 cases were included in the control group and 48 cases in the intervention group. The control group received routine nursing, and the intervention group was given dyadic coping intervention measures based on stress coping theory on the basis of the control group. Before and after intervention, the Chinese version of Breast Cancer Body Image Scale (BIBCQ-C), Olson Marital Quality Questionnaire (ENRICH) and Intimate Relationship Support Scale (SIRRS)were used to evaluate the effect of intervention of the two groups.
Results
After 4 times of intervention, there were statistically significant differences in scores of disease susceptibility, body shame, body attention, perspective and total score of BIBCQ-C between the two groups (P < 0.05). The ENRICH and SIRRS scores and total score of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.01).
Conclusion
Dyadic coping intervention based on stress coping theory can improve the body image level, marital quality and spousal intimate relationship support level of breast cancer patients.
