Construction and application of hospice care standards for advanced cancer patients based on i-PARIHS model

  • Objective To construct a standard of hospice care for advanced cancer patients based on the Integrated Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services (i-PARIHS) model and explore its application effects.
Methods Ninety patients with advanced tumors were randomly divided into two groups. The control group (n=45) received routine nursing intervention, while observation group (n=45) received palliative care intervention based on i-PARIHS model. The application effects of the two groups were compared.
Results After nursing intervention, the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group; the overall well-being scale score and quality of life score were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion The hospice care constructed based on the i-PARIHS model can effectively alleviate patients' negative emotions such as anxiety and depression, alleviate disease pain, and improve overall happiness and quality of life.
